TEAM THOR and the crew of WhiteWaterUnderGround.com are now home and have successfully completed the WORLD RECORD Rappel.

However great our accomplishment, we will never forget Philip Robinson. A 26 year old Parcs Canada Patrol Officer who lived life like we all should. His family helped us to learn that. May he rest in peace.

Welcome to Whitewater Underground. The home of TEAM THOR.

This site came about out of necessity more than anything else. TEAM THOR just set a new (unofficial) WORLD RECORD involving single and tandem rope ascents and single descents. Hopefully this site will give you a sense of how serious we are, how determined we are, and how committed we are. Perhaps 'committed' is an accurate, albeit, Freudian description of our team. From Rocket Scientist to Construction Laborer we are, above all, a team, TEAM THOR.

We accomplished feats never before attempted by man in one of the remotest places on Earth, Inside The Arctic Circle. We carried a mile long rope to the summit of Mount Thor, on Baffin Island, CA in the summer of 2006, rigged it, and commenced breaking and perhaps setting NEW WORLD RECORDS for the Longest Abseil, Longest Ascent, and Longest Tandem Ascent.

We are also producing a series of video scenes depicting a small but able group of dedicated cave explorers seeking out the most outrageous subterraneon waterfalls with the intent of throwing ourselves into them,

by sliding down a rope of course. Yes, rappelling into the black depths of the earth surrounded by total darkness in a pounding waterfall, only to attempt to climb out again, fighting against the rush of thundering underground waterfalls hundreds of feet in length.

We also live for the rush of sliding down ropes on the edge of control hundreds, even thousands of feet from the presipices of pits in caves and cliff faces on mountains, no matter WHERE they are! And if there's water falling off, well, that's a bonus.
